Sunbeam Studios Wedding Photography – Katy and Lee
Sunbeam Studios Wedding Venue
If there’s one word to describe Katy and Lee’s wedding this year, the word is FUN. They needed a venue that would match their personalities and their plans for the day, which involved a lot of laughter, a lot of love, and a lot of madcap dancing. Undoubtedly, Sunbeam Studios was perfect! It gave them enough of a blank space to inject their own personality whilst still retaining its own incredible character.
Jaws themed wedding
Before the aisle music started, Katy and Lee played the Jaws theme tune to give their guests a good giggle. Lee is a huge Jaws fan and even proposed to Katy on Martha’s Vineyard, which is where they shot the film. It was the perfect start for these two, prompting lots of laughter and smiles which didn’t stop as Katy walked down the aisle beaming (well, it is called Sunbeam Studios after all!)
Relaxed couples’ portraits session
After the ceremony we went to get a couple of portraits done in the beating September sunshine. They were totally amazing and at ease in front of the camera, just completely wrapped up in each other’s love – and each other’s excellent dance moves, too. Eager to get back to get the dance party properly started, it wasn’t a long or drawn out session, but we got some stunning shots from it (if I do say so myself!)
Fun floral installations
Bloom and Burn totally transformed Sunbeam Studios with loads of flowers springing from the floor and lining the staircase which Katy and Lee descended for the first time as husband and wife.
Piña Colada cocktail reception
After some hilarious speeches and dinner, Katy and Lee shook things up by cutting their cake in the same room just after their meal. Guests then took a piña colada before moving into the dancefloor room, where the first song was, of course, Escape (the Piña Colada Song)! Wedding Smashers killed the dancefloor as their DJs, ensuring it was rammed at all times.
