Sikh Wedding in Kent
On a crisp, warm and cloudless morning in May, I was up at dawn to photograph the wedding of Raj and Taran in Gravesend, Kent. Preparations began early, so I was thankful for an early night the previous evening. Truth be told, before I met these two, I’d not shot a Sikh wedding before or even visited a Gurdwara. However, after their engagement shoot on the Kent coast at Botany Bay, we made a brief visit to the Gurdwara for a look around. As you’ll see below, it’s an awe-inspiring place. This was why I knew that we would get some pretty special photos!
What followed was an utterly stunning day filled with emotional moments, family, friends, bright sunshine and a beautiful celebration of these two that I’ll never forget. A very big thank you to Raj and Taran for having me (and my excellent second shooter, Anne Schwarz) there on the day. A big thank you also to Amar of Make It Reel for many handy pointers on the day!
